Our teaching in Mathematics aims for pupils to become confident in using numbers and solving real life mathematical problems.
•Our teaching ensures that pupils can draw and classify shapes with increasing accuracy and develop mathematical reasoning so they can analyse shapes and their properties, and confidently describe the relationships between them.
•Our teaching ensures that pupils can use measuring instruments with accuracy and make connections between measure and number.
•Our teaching ensures that children can read information from a range of graphs, tables and charts and use statistics to analyse data and to create their own range of pictorial representations.
By the end of year 4, pupils should have memorised their multiplication tables up to and including the 12 multiplication table.
In February 2016 we launched our 'Rapid Recall Strategy' designed to imporve children's recall of key mathematical facts and figures. Children will be tested weekly on their rapid recall targets. Parents have been provided copies of the strategy for their child's year group.
