Working Hard To Achieve
We teach Religious Education as it informs our values and is reflected in what we say and how we behave.
We aim to develop children’s knowledge and understanding of the religions and beliefs which form part of world in which we live. Religious Education provokes challenging questions about the ultimate meaning and purpose of life, beliefs about God, the self and the nature of reality, issues of right and wrong, and what it means to be human.
Through learning in Religious Education, children gain knowledge and understanding about the beliefs, practices and customs of the six major world religions: Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism. Children also learn about the founders of these religions. Throughout the year major festivals are celebrated, either through RE lessons or through whole school celebrations.
Parents have the right to withdraw their children from Religious Education lessons and should contact the headteacher to further discuss this matter.
