Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is additional funding from the Government given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. Schools and academies will receive funding based on the number of pupils who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years (Ever6).

At Kilburn Park School everyone is ‘working hard to achieve’:

  • We have high aspirations and ambitions for all our children and we do not believe that children who are eligible for pupil premium have any predetermined likelihood to underachieve. However, we do understand that some of these pupils may need to make faster progress than non-eligible pupils and we are focused on achieving this.
  • We recognise that some children eligible for Pupil Premium may face barriers to achievement and we will use Pupil Premium funding to help address these. Our key focus will be on attendance, attitudes and engagement with school, parental engagement and other external factors.  Also, staff professional development (focussing on improving outcomes for eligible pupils), improving the quantity of teaching and learning, languages acquisition and the development of literacy and numeracy skills.

We are committed to maximising the achievement of all children attending Kilburn Park School.
